The Boylston Rooms Wedding | Easthampton Ma | Bethany & Andrew

Bride and Groom posing at the Boylston Rooms Easthampton Ma

Industrial with a touch of elegance - that’s what you get when you walk into The Boylston Rooms in Easthampton, MA. That was the setting Bethany and Andrew chose to gather to celebrate their love for each other, and of course, Andrew’s daughter Arya.

When you think ‘Fall in New England’ you see shades of orange and yellow, and even a touch of copper. From Bethany’s flowers to Andrew’s tie and even little Arya’s dress, those colors were bursting throughout this late-October day.

As the dynamic duo of Lindsey from The Beauty Studio and Robyn from The Luxy worked on makeup and hair respectively, we got to work on the details. Bethany’s dress was intricate and stunning! The floral details paired perfectly with the room, and when hung from a simple black hanger against Boylston’s white brick - magnificent!

The process of capturing all the details in a wedding has to include what we call “getting ready” shots. So how do we take those moments and transform them? How about a silhouette? Or even using the background lights to create an artistic look with lots of those fun circles, also known as “bokeh.” And when presented with the opportunity, I will set up an extra light and ask the hairstylist for a little hairspray to create some dramatic moments in the process! Let’s not forget about the smile on Arya’s face while she watches Bethany’s look come together!

While the getting ready process is quite a bit shorter and less involved for the gentlemen, that doesn’t mean the details aren’t there to capture. Andrew’s deep navy blue suit was the perfect compliment to Bethany’s dress - and man did it look good in the natural light of Boylston’s East Room! Andrew’s Best Man did his best, tightening up that copper tie and making sure the collar was perfectly straight. No need for us to stage these shots - just be there when the moment is happening and capture it candidly.

The bonus to Boylston’s location is an extensive selection of backdrops for portraits and that all-important First Look. For Bethany and Andrew, they went full industrial, doing their first look in a small alleyway between two mills. Andrew is quiet and doesn’t say much - keeping a serious demeanor up to this point. But that was about to change as Bethany walked up and placed a hand on his shoulder. He turned, smiled and was speechless! After sharing a few moments together, we brought in Arya and the whole wedding party for photos. We then sent them back inside, Adam grabbed the light and we took a walk to the wooded area behind the building, set against Lower Mill Pond. A few portraits there and on the walk back up, and it was time to say “I Do.”

The ceremony was performed by one of the area’s best officiants - Deb Koske from Sovereign Spirit. What makes Deb unique is her attention to spirituality. She takes the time to burn sage and bless the room before Bethany and Andrew arrive. It was perfect for this day, as vows and rings were exchanged. So what happens next? We move over to Boylston’s West Room for the party!

Our buddy DJ Alonzo from Marx Entertainment got the dance floor hopping and he made sure it stayed that way all night long! We took one more opportunity to embrace Boylston’s patio space and their beautiful string lighting, by taking Bethany and Andrew outside for one more portrait, embracing the night, the celebration and all that was this magical day!
