A Snowy Engagement Session at Quonquont Farm | Will & Michelle

Couple dancing in a snowy forest during engagement portraits, with bare trees and snow falling. They appear joyful, wearing winter coats, in a serene, wintry landscape.

Winter engagement sessions in New England can be unpredictable. Cold? Definitely. Windy? Sometimes. But every once in a while, everything comes together perfectly.

That’s exactly what happened with Will and Michelle at Quonquont Farm.

From the moment we started, there was this easy, relaxed energy between them. No stiff poses. No forced smiles. Just two people genuinely enjoying being together — which, honestly, makes my job pretty simple.

The Magic of a Snowy Session

As we walked the property, soft snow began falling around us. Not the heavy, blinding kind — just enough to create that quiet, peaceful winter backdrop. The kind that feels straight out of a movie.

Snow has a way of simplifying everything. The landscape turns clean and bright, and the focus shifts entirely to the couple. Their laughter. Their connection. The little in-between moments.

And that’s always what I’m looking for.

Just when we were wrapping up, Michelle decided to toss a little snow at Will.

A playful moment turned into pure chaos — in the best way possible — when the snow somehow landed directly down his shirt.

The reaction? Immediate shock. Followed by laughter. Lots of laughter.

Was it cold? Absolutely. Was it worth it? 100%.

Those spontaneous moments are the ones couples end up loving most. They’re real. They’re unplanned. And they capture your personalities in a way no posed photo ever could.

Why Engagement Sessions Matter

Engagement sessions aren’t just about getting beautiful photos (though you absolutely will). They’re about:

  • Getting comfortable in front of the camera

  • Learning how I guide and direct you

  • Building trust before the wedding day

  • Creating space for authentic moments like this

By the time Will and Michelle’s wedding day arrives, we won’t feel like strangers. We’ll already have shared an experience, laughed together, and figured out what feels most natural for them.

That comfort makes a huge difference on your wedding day.

Relaxed, Real, and You

My goal for every engagement session is simple: keep it relaxed and let you be yourselves.

If that means cozy winter walks and quiet moments — great. If that means snowball fights and uncontrollable laughter — even better.

Will and Michelle’s session was the perfect reminder that the best photos don’t come from perfection. They come from connection.

And maybe a little snow down the shirt.
